MEASUREMENTS: Length: 45", Bust: 32.5", Waist: 27", Hips: 36", Sleeves: 16", Shoulders, 14" (across)

Originally this dress was made with a slip underneath, and for good reason! I have decided to leave it up to you, the buyer, to do what you want with it! My first instinct says to put a light pink slip underneath although it could look great with an unexpected color underneath. Red may look fabulous!
Be creative! It is an amazing piece of vintage better left untouched by me and personalized by its new owner. You can leave it as it is, if you wish :)

Bright colors and vintage clothes are the best spring trends - Opinion - Daily 49er - California State University Long Beach

Bright colors and vintage clothes are the best spring trends - Opinion - Daily 49er - California State University Long Beach

Published: Sunday, February 26, 2012
Updated: Sunday, February 26, 2012 17:02

With spring right around the corner, it's time to bring your flip-flops out and put your pea coats away. This spring there is something out there for everyone. The biggest trends this year are color blocking, athletic clothing, and peplum.
The first trend that is not leaving this spring is color blocking. If you don't know what that means, the trick is to stay simple. Take your standard color wheel and pick two colors that are either directly across from the color wheel, complimentary or make a small T when picking them. Add a third color by pairing them with nudes, blacks or whites.
The color of the season is tangerine and it took full force on the runway with designers Vivienne Tam, Jill Stuart and even Project Runway's Christian Siriano. The color is best used with a hint of pink or even black. If you are afraid of the bright hue any shade of orange will do.
If you are not as bold, you might want to try the minimalist pastels trend. The colors were worn on the runway with dressed up business casual looks. Try wearing shorts, blazers and button-up blouses for a fun way to mix it up for a job interview. Take some clues from Carolina Herrera and Calvin Klein who did it right this season if you still want some ideas for how to wear pastels.
If you are trying to feel more inspired to go the gym to get that summer body then don't worry because athletic clothing is in. This spring saw a lot of windbreaker jackets, spandex-like pants, and anoraks in playful and feminine ways. Jazz up your gym gear by adding some flair from designers like Rag and Bone, Helmut Lang and Marc Jacobs.
Designers set their sights on Africa this year for a fun Safari trend as opposed to a more traditional jungle theme. Michael Kors is leading the pack with cheetah prints, khakis, brown belts and gorgeous accessories inspired by the landscape. If you are feeling more risqué and want to play with more color trends that remind you of this region, look to the masters of color Proenza Schouler.
As far as decades go, we are looking at two trends coming back this year. The 20s and peplum, which is reminiscent of the 40s and 50s, are both making comebacks. For both trends body shapes are something you might want to consider. Peplums are hard to wear but extremely flirty and can give you so much Hollywood glamour.
Marc Jacobs once again proved that bold can be wearable if done right when he graced the catwalk with Gatsby-inspired dresses influenced by the 20s. They were seen with sequins and stones or simpler styles for the less coquette Daisies out there. The Olsen twins took the hint and incorporated this trend into their signature collection The Row, as did Tory Burch and Oscar de la Renta.
So remember, spring is the perfect time to embrace color, prints and flirtier, feminine trends. Put your grays, blacks, and browns away unless you are pairing them with these trends.

How To Find Bargain Women's Vintage Clothing | Howtohint.com

How To Find Bargain Women's Vintage Clothing

Introduction

Women’s vintage clothing is all the rage in Hollywood, and throughout small towns across America. Finding clothing vintage women’s clothing that looks great with modern pieces can be difficult, especially if you don’t want to spend a small fortune on the pieces. Instead of shopping at a high-end boutique in a larger city to find a diamond in the rough, look around your town or home to find vintage women’s clothing that looks great, even on a thoroughly modern woman.

Step 1

Head to a local thrift or resale store to find some inexpensive vintage women’s clothing. Many of these stores have section that feature vintage women’s clothing. If you have an eye for fashion, and a few minutes to spare, dig deep in the racks to find a real gem. Buyer beware when shopping at thrift or resale stores, especially for older pieces of clothing. Learn the shop’s return or exchange policy and pay close attention to the garments to ensure you’re not purchasing something that’s badly damaged or stained.

Step 2

The next stop to find vintage women’s clothing should be a consignment store. Once again, there are consignment stores that cater to vintage women’ clothing enthusiasts. If you don’t have this type of shop in your area, don’t worry. Your local consignment store can be a great outlet for vintage women’s clothing at a great price. The upside to vintage consignment store is the quality of merchandise. The store has a financial interest in the pieces selling, and generally won’t purchase or sell clothing that isn’t higher quality. Contact your local consignment store to inquire about the type of merchandise they accept. You might be able to clean out your closet and make some money while you shop.

Step 3

Check yard sales in your area for vintage women’s clothing. Pay attention to the yard sale’s ad and head to homes that are selling items that belong to elderly people. Estate sales are also a great place to find vintage clothing. Generally, an estate sale is held after a person’s death and the family is looking to sell the majority of the person’s possessions. Don’t be afraid to haggle for a good price when visiting a thrift or estate sale and bring plenty of cash just in case you find something great.

Step 4

Hit up your mother or grandmother’s closet to find bargain, or free, vintage women’s clothing. You might be surprised at what you find hidden in the back of the closet. Aside from getting great clothing for cheap, or free, you’ll also get to learn more about your parent or grandparent and their style. Don’t forget to wear the clothing with care, especially if it’s being borrowed, and take a picture of yourself in the vintage women’s clothing to share with your relative.

Step 5

Check out internet auction sites to vintage a bargain on vintage women’s clothing. You might be surprised at what you find. Pay attention to the picture and don’t be afraid to ask for extra photos of the pieces, especially if it’s pricey. If the seller isn’t willing to offer more photos of the garment, think twice because the quality might not be there.

Tips

Have any vintage items you think might be worth money appraised by a professional.

Turquoise Leather Skirt - Alice and Olivia

Alice + Olivia Turquoise Box Pleated Leather Skirt

Why is everything they sell so freakin" cute! I am obsessed.
You have to look at their website.

NOT SO EASY DOING WHAT YOU LOVE

Don't get me wrong, I love what I do but it is hard work. I am the buyer, the seller, book keeper, inventory stock girl, clothing cleaner, stain remover and ironer, photographer, photo editor, researcher, writer, item lister, packer and shipper, blogger, and most importantly, the social network marketing manager. Being a marketing manager means 15 social networking sites with every item posted. It is a handful. I need an assistant but first I need some money. Yes, that is right. More money. But I am getting there and then I get to take my 1 hour drive to where the real thrift stores are, in New Mexico. But, I have no one to tell me what to do or when to do it. My ADD can suck it. I am going to making this work. Ahhh, blog writing therapy! It works!
